The lost month; Part II

We spent a weekend in Manteno visiting Jeremy's mom recently. We don't get up that way often enough but we had a great trip. The boys loved spending time with Grammy and their cousin Spencer.

Jeremy and I enjoyed sleeping in for a few mornings and went out to catch a movie. We were going to see Water for Elephants, but at the last minute I changed my mind and we went to see Thor. It started earlier so we would be back earlier. And yes- I do like to eat with the other early birds before 5, why do you ask? I ended up enjoying the movie much more than I thought I would. In fact we ended up taking the boys to see it the following week. Jeremy and I were those parents with the three year old at a film rated PG-13. Relax. It is not the end of the world.  Owen was singing a Kesha song last month. He was already ruined.

On our way back from our visit to Grandmas we took a detour to the Lake of the Ozarks. The weather was a little dreary, but Jeremy had the week off. We had a relaxing week and the boys now have a laundry list of things that their mom is not all that great at. This list includes, miniature golf, driving a go kart, and bowling. We finished the week at at indoor water park and came home.

The End.

Oh, I forgot a week somewhere in there. The week after I fell down the stairs and bruised my tail we went to St. Louis. Jeremy had a doctor appointment so the boys and I went along. I thought I would take them to the Magic House or the zoo. The weather wasn't cooperating and the Magic House was closed so we went to the City Museum. We spent the morning there and I went down as many of the slides as my bum would let me. I freaked out for a few minutes when I lost them in the tunnels of the cave between the first floor and the second. They were quickly found by an employee, at that point I could see them but couldn't figure out how to get to them. I hated that panicky feeling.

After lunch we headed to pick up Jeremy but he wasn't quite finished so we stopped by the zoo. The zoo is one of the things I miss the most about St. Louis. Owen said his favorite part of the day was  seeing the penguins and the elephants. Ben's favorite was climbing up to the airplane at City Museum.

I'm pretty sure he loves that they were missing for just a few minutes because he will casually bring it up.

"Remember when we went to that place with the airplane that we had to climb way up high to get to?"
"Of, course I remember, Ben, we had a fun day!" I reply.
Then he will respond with a little sly grin on his face "And you lost me and my brother there!"

Oh well. They are already ruined. I let them listen to pop music and watch movies that are rated PG-13.

And that's what these boys have been up to Uncle Greg.
