Be Mine

The boys have been making me laugh a lot lately.  Ben came home with a book about his holiday vacation in early January that he wrote and illustrated.  This page is one of my favorites as it shows our family.  Two things crack me up about this. My lower half and the six or seven hairs on Jeremy's head that appear in every single drawing.  I love to see what we look like through his eyes!
We went to see Santa with my brother.
The PTA carnival was last week at Ben's school and the boys had a blast. It was fun watching  Ben  interact with his classmates outside of the classroom. Owen wanted to get his face painted and we waited in line for at least 40 minutes. About six other kindergarteners were in line to keep their attention and I chatted with a few moms. When it was time to leave I found Owen in the gym, where all the jumpy tents were, crawling on the ground and barking. Face paint =  a costume when you are four.  On the way out I said goodbye to one of the moms I was chatting with earlier in line and said I'd see her Tuesday at the Valentine's Party. Ben was so cute, "MOM!!! Did you make a new friend?!?" Just have to love that enthusiasm!

Owen had his first party at preschool. He was excited that I would finally get to come to his classroom.  He finally seems to be enjoying preschool. He had a rough start and many days just didn't want to go, but lately he's been talking a lot more about what he's doing during the day.

Ben's class party was later the same day. I hadn't been able to make it to the other parties due to work schedule conflicts so he was super excited that I was able to help out.  I love that he likes to have me around.  I have a feeling that as fast as time goes by it won't be long before he's acting like he doesn't know me.

Our week ended with a super jam packed trip to St. Louis with our friend Kim and her three boys.  We hit the City Museum, the Arch, the Magic House and swam several times at the hotel pool before heading back on Sunday and stopping at Going Bonkers in Columbia.  Owen ended up with a fever on Friday but Jeremy drove all the way there to pick him up and bring him home so that Ben wouldn't have to miss out on the fun.  What a super dad! Poor Owen is still carrying the fever but he is acting much more like himself.

I'm off to Lysol the house.
Again.
