Mavericks Beat RiverKings 5-4

Ben and Owen attended their very first hockey game last night.

Hockey is  a sport that I could never watch on television.  Seeing a game in person is a different story all together.  I went to several Blues games (with friends GREG!) while living near St. Louis and always had a blast-even though I am a bit very fuzzy on many of the finer points of the game.

This is the first year for an expansion minor league team of the Central Hockey League, the Missouri Mavericks.   They play at the Independence Events Center, which is nearby.  The game was launched by our elementary school choir's rendition of the National Anthem, which was outstanding.  Our friend/neighbor's daughter is in the choir so we went with their family.

The boys had a great time clapping and cheering on the team.  They had their hot dogs and danced along to the blaring music.  We were there for roughly four hours- both of them were still going strong.
