Play by Play

It seems like such a long time since I've sat down to write an actual post that contains more that a few short sentences. I'm not sure where to begin on the update...let's see, Ben missed two days of preschool last week because my car battery was dead, Owen is still recovering from a never ending stomach virus (which he graciously shared with me)and we finally left the neighborhood today for the first time in almost a week!

Monday: We took Owen to the doctor, he was diagnosed with probable RSV. Bright spot was that laundry was completely caught up!

Tuesday: I got the boys dressed and fed, coats on and into car seats only to find that the car would not start. No preschool for Ben! Dead battery was presumed to be Jeremy's fault (obviously)because he drove it last. Owen threw up after Jeremy put him to bed before I got home from work. He was up several times throughout the night.
Wednesday: All except Ben are exhausted from poor little Owen not sleeping well. Owen was acting fine, but a little clingy. He got a lot of cuddle time. Started feeling icky myself. Most of the night was spent in the bathroom.

Thursday: Repeat of Tuesday morning followed by a meltdown on the phone with Jeremy. It was definitely his fault for not making sure that the car would start when he left for work at 4:30 in the morning. He came home early to watch the boys while I tried to sleep off the stomach bug. (Bless his heart!)

Friday: Owen and I were still a little under the weather. Ben finally got to go outside to play. It was very sad watching Jeremy out on the driveway with our neighbors while the kids played. Mountain of laundry to be folded...but way too tired.

Saturday: Jeremy bought a battery and thought he would install it himself. I talked him out of it and he returned the battery and took the car to the dealership for proper diagnosis and repair. Doorbell rings at 10:30am, our neighbor's daughter, Olivia, was asking if Ben could come out to play. Once I realized that it was warm and I hadn't been out of the house since Tuesday, I figured I should get out of my comfy robe and pajamas for a little fresh air. We ended up spending the day with outside with the rest of the neighborhood. Great medicine!!! Playtime ended with Ben getting bit by Kayleigh and then biting back in retaliation. (Apparently they were fighting over the same toy). He tried to call later to apologize but she was already in bed.Sunday: Kayleigh called to tell Ben that she was sorry. Ben told her that he's sorry too and they decided to remain friends. I got overly excited because Owen had a solid poo and alerted the masses, aka Kelly and Grandma Guthrie. Laundry was caught up! Kim and I then notice that I had a flat tire while Ben was playing outside with Jimmy and JT. Jeremy changed it in time for the kickoff of the Superbowl. We had a great time with the neighbors watching the game. I'm happy to report that no one got bit (except the Cardinals). I apparently celebrated solid poo too soon, because Owen had a blow out shortly after putting him to bed.

Monday: Jeremy dropped Ben off at preschool then got the tire fixed on the car. Owen and I picked him up at 1:00 then headed to Wal-Mart for hand soap. We have a car that runs and can go ANYWHERE and we head to Wal-Mart...that's about as crazy as we get. When we got home they played for a while before going down for naps. I'm really hoping that today is the last day of Owen's stomach bug. I must say that I was so much more whiny about it than he has been! He's such a sweetheart, even when he's under the weather. Ben was also quite the trooper with little stimulation from Mommy. Jeremy definatley pulled through to keep things together! (Even it was all his fault.)
