Brave Boys

I took Ben and Owen in to Ben's preschool yesterday to see Ms. Claire and his friends.

The kids in his room were so cute when we came in. Three or four little boys came running over to say hi to Ben and to give him hugs. One of them asked him how his summer was. Ben loved it. Ms. Claire told him she is looking forward to having Ben and the rest of the kids come back next week.

 

After naps we headed over to the neighborhood pool. We had it all to ourselves and I was able to talk Ben out of the pink ring. He was amazing. He practiced swimming under the water and was so proud of himself.

I was pretty impressed with the bravado he was showing. He'd get high fives, hugs and words of encouragement when he'd come up from under the water. While I was giving him a hug I told him that I was so proud of how brave he was being. He told me it was because he had the "best mom in the whole wide world". Awwww, I kept that close to my heart this morning when I was "mean mommy" because I didn't allow him to have cookies for his breakfast.

Owen received big cheers and hugs for being such a cutie pie in the pool yesterday too. When brother would get a hug Owen would swim over for one too. He loves to jump in the pool and doesn't mind when he goes under water. It's adorable to see his little legs kicking in the water to get him where he wants to go.
