Weekend Away

We arrived home yesterday after spending the weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks with our friends.

I was packed and ready to go when Jeremy got home from work early on Friday. This was quite the feat since I tend to procrastinate in this area. I look for every excuse not to look at my closet full of clothes that don't fit to plan outfits in advance. Too bad Garanamils aren't still around and available in big girl sizes.

I took Layla to the kennel for the first time (which was surprisingly heartbreaking) and we were at the Lake by 3:00 ready to check in. I don't have many pictures of the fun that we had while we were there. Guess my camera needed a little vacation as well.

We headed over to the resort that the Marshall's and Stinson's were staying so that the boys could swim with Brock and Brady. My favorite part of any vacation is of course the food. Later that evening we went to dinner in Osage Beach with Jon, Tasha, Mindy and 4 little boys.

By the end of our short stay, Ben and Owen were both in love with Joyce, (Jon and Jessica's Mom). Last year, Ben tagged her "that girl, Joyce". This time around she was upgraded to Aunt Joyce. When she walked into JJ Twigs for dinner on Sunday, they both squealed with delight and couldn't get to her fast enough. Owen was offended that she unbuckled Ben from the car after dinner before him. He really let her have it with his arm motions and grunts. Of course he was fine as soon as she gave him a big hug.

Ben was excited that Tasha's dad, Joe, let him steer when we were out on the boat Sunday evening. Owen loved being on the water and was all smiles the entire trip-in fact we all were.

 

After finishing our pie and feeding the fish at Ozark Barbecue, it was time to head home yesterday. I asked Ben what his favorite part of the vacation was and playing with Brock and Brady won hands down. I have to agree. Hanging out with Jon, Tasha, Mindy and their families was by far my favorite part of the trip too.
